Christmas in Perth

Perth

Ok heading west! We’re making the long trip over to Perth to see what this city has to offer over Christmas time. Perth is an amazing city, small enough to have the community vibe but also big enough to have everything for Christmas that you would ever need, not to mention the incredible beaches over the west! Whether you’re into camping, festivals or just having a chill Christmas experience, you will find everything you need in the city of Perth and its surrounds.

So, what makes Perth special over the Christmas season? Let’s take a look.

  1. Local Lights – Again by far my favourite thing to do over Christmas. Our family tradition in our Tiny town in NSW was to go to Carols by Candlelight then jump in the car and explore the streets! So jump onto https://xmaslightstrail.synergy.net.au/ or https://perthisok.com/event/where-to-find-some-of-the-best-christmas-lights-in-perth/Christmas Lights trail – harmoniously working with local lights, Perth offers a Christmas Lights trail which runs for 45 nights leading up to Christmas. This year the city shines so brightly with amazing Christmas light installations and vibrant decorations lighting up the city sky. Choose from one of two journeys or even do them both making up to 27 stops along the way or use this as a guide to enchant your own path. There are dynamic building projections, light displays and so much entertainment every Friday and Saturday night.
  2. Carols by Candlelight – Another family favourite is visiting local carols! Held at Redemptorist Monastery, Perth’s carols have choral Christmas music accompanied by a spectacular brass quintet, Children reading heart-warming Australian Christmas poems and stories and many other forms of entertainment. There are also North Beach Community Carols, which is a free event held at the Baptist Church with activities for the children, singing and delicious food! Bring along a picnic rug and enjoy the festive spirit.
  3. Christmas Nativity Concerts – Located at Forrest Place and bought back by popular demand, you can sit and enjoy the traditional story of Christmas. Bought to life on stage with visual effects and stunning backdrops it offers young talent to shine and community choirs to sing and make the night extra special.
  4. Santa’s Christmas Carnival – Filled with exciting rides, activities and entertainment for all ages this event is Wester Australia’s Biggest and best! Santa will arrive at the main arena and the kids will never forget this day of the year! There will be rides, live entertainment, shows, extreme motocross stunt shows, face painting, animal farms and much much more! Located at Claremont Showground.
